5 Unique Mother’s Day Gift Ideas in Downtown West Palm Beach

These gifts are experiences that moms will never forget.

Mother’s Day (May 10) is just around the corner, and there’s often a lot of pressure to find the perfect gift that shows your years of gratitude. If you’re looking for a unique way to honor a mom in your life, consider an experience that lasts far longer than flowers and cards. This year, after treating mom to brunch, offer her an experience she’ll never forget: time to recharge, an afternoon of self-care, or a class where she can learn something new. If you’re looking for something different, here are five unique experiences in Downtown West Palm Beach designed to make her feel celebrated.

Brunch At The Ben Hotel

There’s something timeless about gathering around the table for a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch. And at The Ben Hotel, moms can indulge in an elevated dining experience from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. featuring a lavish buffet with favorites like eggs benedict, chicken & waffles, and a carving station, along with a mimosa, bellini, and bloody mary bar. To make the celebration even sweeter, each mom will receive a ticket to create a custom bouquet of fresh flowers at the on-site pop-up flower stand. Discounted valet parking is also included for guests.

Salon Pampering at AG Hair & Beauty Loft

There is a certain confidence that comes from a professional hair transformation. And at AG Hair & Beauty Loft, you can give the moms in your life the gift of an elevated beauty experience. This spacious, modern salon specializes in everything from cuts and blow dries to keratin treatments and highlights. The salon also provides intensive care options, such as the “Intense Precious Treatment,” a restorative session that’s paired with a signature essential oil blend, a 10-minute relaxing scalp massage, and a professional blow-dry.

(Nail) Polished Perfection at Bliss Beauty Lounge

Sometimes, the best way to recharge is to relax and let someone else take charge of your beauty routine. For top-notch nails, Bliss Beauty Lounge is the go-to destination in Downtown West Palm Beach for high-end nail art and professional makeup application. In addition to gel and dip manicures, the lounge offers a Collagen Spa Manicure, which includes a soak, scrub, mask, and collagen-rich lotion. And if the mom in your life has a special evening planned, the studio’s professional makeup team can provide a flawless, “red carpet” look.

Classes at The Dance Hub

For the mom who loves to move (or has always dreamed of gliding across a floor with grace), The Dance Hub offers a musical escape. From ballroom and salsa to contemporary movement, the instructors here create a welcoming environment that prioritizes the joy of dance over perfection. Giving the mom in your life a set of lessons allows her to learn a new skill and perhaps rediscover a passion she hasn’t explored in years.

Inner Peace (and outer strength) at The Yoga Society

Ideal for moms who have described a perfect day as one that involves mindfulness and a physical challenge, consider classes at The Yoga Society. Known for its community-driven atmosphere and expert-led sessions, this studio will provide her with a space to disconnect for a few hours a week. The studio is open to practitioners of all levels and offers hatha, restorative, and heated power vinyasa classes. Classes run all week, ranging from 60–75 minutes Monday through Friday, with a longer 90-minute session on Saturdays.

Five Downtown West Palm Beach Restaurants with a View

These restaurants serve great food with a side of scenery.

If you want to grab a bite to eat in Downtown West Palm Beach, there are plenty of delicious options. But if you want your dinner served on a sky-high rooftop, we’ve picked a few restaurants in Downtown West Palm Beach that hit the mark. From an Italian eatery to a Greek tavern, here are five restaurants in the Center of Paradise where the menu is just as elevated as the views.

Spruzzo Restaurant (Photo Credit: The Ben, Autograph Collection)
Spruzzo – 251 N. Narcissus Avenue

Located atop The Ben Hotel, Spruzzo is one of Downtown West Palm Beach’s most popular settings for a rooftop meal. The restaurant offers unobstructed, sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway, and when the sun goes down, it’s one of the best seats in the city to view the sunset. The menu here is seafood-focused and features an extensive raw bar, as well as a seafood tower of oysters, lobster tail, and jumbo shrimp. If you’d prefer ‘turf” over ‘surf’, there’s also delicious lemon chicken and tender wagyu steak. And for weekend brunches, you can look forward to digging into lollipop lamb chops and petit lobster rolls. Elevate your brunch with a Saint-Tropez Martini, infused with elderflower liqueur, cucumber, mint, and lemon.

Estiatorio Milos Outdoor Terrace (Photo Credit: Bronwyn Knight)
Estiatorio Milos – 170 Lakeview Avenue

A newcomer to Downtown West Palm Beach’s food scene, Estiatorio Milos offers a view of the surrounding cityscape from the second-story terrace. Inside, the restaurant is a striking, light-filled space with soaring ceilings and a showstopping spiral staircase. The Greek restaurant also features a display of seafood that’s shipped fresh daily. For an unforgettable meal, reserve a table on the terrace and dive into the restaurant’s elevated Mediterranean menu. Treat yourself to the octopus or calamari, or opt for a hearty dish of lamb chops and organic roasted chicken breast.

Bar Capri Rooftop Dining Room (Photo Credit: Bar Capri)
Bar Capri – 185 Banyan Boulevard

For a dining experience that perfectly bridges high-energy and sophistication, check out Bar Capri at Elisabetta’s Ristorante. This massive, bi-level Italian restaurant has a prime waterfront location with views of the Intracoastal Waterway from nearly every seat. The second-floor dining space features outdoor terrace seating, allowing guests to dine al fresco directly across from the water. The menu focuses on Italian classics like house-made pizzas, along with a comprehensive cocktail and wine list. The desserts alone (cannoli, tiramisu, and Louie Nonna’s cheesecake) are worth a trip. Make reservations for a weekday happy-hour meal, or gather a few friends for a weekend brunch and order the sausage, bacon, and egg pizza with bottomless mimosas.

Kyma’s Tarazza Rooftop Bar (Photo Credit: Kyma)
Kyma West Palm Beach – 151 N. Olive Avenue

Another great Greek restaurant in Downtown West Palm Beach is Kyma. As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll be transported to the Greek islands with the restaurant’s whitewashed interiors, crisp white linens, and soft wood tones. Upstairs, there’s a 6,000 sq ft rooftop with 360-degree sweeping views of Downtown West Palm Beach and the Intracoastal.  Indulge in a menu of Greek staples, from crisp calamari and succulent shrimp skewers to savory soutzoukakia (spiced beef and lamb). The bar program draws inspiration from its surroundings; pair your shrimp Santorini with the WPB Kymatini, a refreshing blend of Ketel One Cucumber, Carpano Bianco, mint, and lime. To finish, the classic baklava, drenched in a warm honey-cinnamon glaze, is a delicious final act.

Treehouse Rooftop Bar (Photo Credit: Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach)
Treehouse – 380 Trinity Place

Treehouse, located in the Canopy by Hilton hotel, offers a completely unique rooftop perspective. At 13 stories high, the restaurant delivers jaw-dropping 360-degree views of the entire Downtown skyline. The view, particularly at sunset, is nothing short of spectacular. While the cocktail program is highly creative, the menu offers a solid selection of global shared plates like Tostones Al Pastor, Beef Barbacoa Bao Buns, and Spicy Rigatoni. Great for family birthdays or brunch with friends, Treehouse is an essential stop for anyone who truly wants to “see” West Palm Beach from above.

Your Essential Downtown West Palm Beach Spring Break Checklist

A guide to the best things to see and do for spring break

So, you’ve decided to spend your spring break in Downtown West Palm Beach. You’ve picked a great place, which offers a walkable neighborhood, waterfront views, and unique restaurants all in one city. Whether you’re a family exploring with the kids, a group of friends on a getaway, or a couple needing some sunshine, here is how you can spend your spring break in the Center of Paradise.

What to Do: Ride, Splash, and Sip

Explore on Two (or Four) Wheels: One of the best ways to explore Downtown West Palm Beach is on wheels. Head to Palm Beach Ebike rentals to rent cruisers, e-bikes, or a signature Lilly Pulitzer Moke and glide along the waterfront. You can ride around at your own pace, and if you’re feeling adventurous, hop across the bridge to the 5.5-mile Palm Beach Lake Trail.

Book a Water Cruise: For a different perspective, the family-friendly Palm Beach Sightseeing Cruise is an absolute must. There’s also a Sip and Dip Cruise, a three-hour sail that drops anchor so you can kayak, swim, or paddleboard. For some adults-only fun, consider the Flotilla Cruise, which features a giant flamingo “floatie”, music, and flamingo-themed drinks.

Party Downtown: You can’t visit Downtown West Palm Beach without spending a night enjoying the unique nighttime entertainment. If it’s a Saturday night, head to Karaoke at Hullabaloo from 10 p.m. to midnight to belt out your favorite song. St. Patrick’s Day also takes place in March, and there are several events planned, including the Irish Fest on March 14 and 15 and the St. Patrick’s Day Party on March 17, both hosted by O’Shea’s Irish Pub. There are also two pub crawls on March 14 and 17, and an all-day St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at Roxy’s Pub.

Where to Eat: Culinary Adventures for Every Appetite

For Morning Vibes: The food scene in DowntownWPB is on fire right now, with new restaurants all over the city. Start your morning (or late brunch) at Batch Southern Tap (get the camelized apple French toast) or go low-key at Johan’s Joe Swedish Restaurant and order the homemade Swedish pancakes. Or grab breakfast to go with a bagel or donut at Sour Seed Bagel or Crema.

For Afternoon Bites: When that afternoon hunger hits, Elisabetta’s Ristorante is a must. They serve incredible Italian food, and their second-floor balcony overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. Another tasty option is Rivales Taquera and Craft Bar for street-style tacos and margaritas. For tasty sushi rolls and short rib dumplings, you can’t go wrong with a reservation at Pubbelly Sushi.

For Late Night Flavors: At Estiatorio Milos, you can personally select your dinner from a fresh selection of Mediterranean fish flown in daily. Kyma features modern Greek cuisine and the highest rooftop views in Downtown West Palm Beach. Another great rooftop spot is Spruzzo at The Ben Hotel. The restaurant’s seafood dishes, like the crab cakes and the lobster and prawn fettuccine, have made it a favorite among locals.

What to See: Classic Music and Iconic Performances

Dive into Culture: Take a break from the sun and head to the Kravis Center for an exciting lineup of events in March and April. You can keep the Spring Break energy going for the kids with “Elmo’s Got the Moves” on April 24. And for more live theater, Palm Beach Dramaworks is presenting The Crucible on select dates from April 3 to April 19.

7 Romantic Date Ideas in Downtown West Palm Beach

Turn up the romance with these unique date ideas in the Center of Paradise

Whether it’s a first date or you’ve been together for decades, arranging a romantic date can feel like a lot of pressure. But don’t worry, we’re here to make planning your next outing a little easier with some ideas you may not have thought of. Beyond the traditional dinner and a movie, Downtown West Palm Beach offers lots of unique activities for every budget. Whether you’re looking for a low-key afternoon stroll or a competitive night of gaming, check out these seven romantic date ideas.

An Art Walk

For a low-pressure date, consider heading out for an art walk through Downtown West Palm Beach. The district feels like an open-air gallery showcasing expansive murals and modern sculptures. Start at Subculture Coffee, where you can grab an iced coffee or berry smoothie, and then follow this public arts map around Downtown West Palm Beach. An art walk is a great way to spark conversation with your date. Plus, it’s creative, completely free, and a great excuse to hold hands while you explore.

A Bike Tour

If your ideal date involves fresh air and a little movement, rent a pair of electric bikes or classic cruisers from Palm Beach Ebike Rentals and head toward the water. You can pedal along the downtown waterfront or cross the bridge to the famous Palm Beach Lake Trail, a scenic, breezy path that winds past historic estates. A bike date gives you the freedom to stop whenever a view (or a conversation) gets particularly interesting.

Retro Arcade Night

You can also inject some playful competition into your relationship with a date at Lost Weekend. This isn’t your typical bar, but it’s more like a blast from the past with vintage arcade games and pool tables. You can challenge your partner to a round of Pac-Man while also sharing an order of their famous tacos. Lost Weekend is a high-energy environment that’s perfect for breaking the ice or simply letting your inner child run wild for a few hours.

A Foodie Tour

A foodie tour is the ultimate “cheat code” for a perfect date night because it removes the stress of picking just one restaurant. Instead of committing to a single menu, you and your partner can explore the city’s best dishes hand in hand. Sign up for The Downtown West Palm Beach Food Tour, which allows you to sample food from five different restaurants. As you wander between restaurants, a local guide will share the history of the neighborhood, giving you plenty to talk about between bites.

An Escape Room

If you want to skip the small talk and see how you truly vibe as a team, an escape room at a spot like West Palm Beach Escape Rooms is the way to go. An escape room is an interactive, immersive date, and there’s something surprisingly romantic about watching your partner’s brain work in real time as they crack a difficult code or find a hidden key. Afterward, you’ll have plenty of moments to laugh about over drinks at nearby Waxins West Palm Beach. An escape room is the perfect choice for competitive couples or those looking to add a little drama to their night.

A Flea Market Stroll

For a date that feels like a treasure hunt, head to the West Palm Beach Antique and Flea Market. It’s usually held on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m from October through April. Wandering through the aisles of vintage jewelry and quirky collectibles is a great way to learn about each other’s tastes. You might find a rare vinyl record to listen to later or a piece of art that sparks a long conversation. Plus, it’s located right in the heart of downtown, so you can easily transition from browsing antiques to a scenic brunch at Avocado Grill or Pistache French Bistro

Sunset Sail on a Catamaran

There is nothing quite as romantic as seeing the West Palm skyline as you head out onto the Intracoastal. For a special date night or anniversary celebration, board a Sunset Catamaran Cruise that leaves right from the docks on Clematis Street and Flagler Drive. The two-hour cruise includes beverages for purchase, so you can sip wine as the sun goes down. It’s the perfect way to end the day and offers a way to unplug and enjoy each other’s company.

5 Ways to Get into the Holiday Spirit in Downtown West Palm Beach

From festive restaurant menus to ballet performances, this is your guide to exploring.

The holiday season is finally here, which means cooler weather, twinkling palm tree lights, and an iconic holiday sand tree dancing each night. This time of year also invites us to slow down, spend more time with family and friends, and take in the festive scenery. It’s the perfect time to shop, dine, and explore everything Downtown West Palm Beach has to offer, and we’re here to help you do it. If you’re looking to celebrate the season, here are five ways to get into the holiday spirit.

Visit Sandi The Holiday Sand Tree

Forget pine and fir trees, Downtown West Palm Beach has the world’s only 35-foot holiday tree made from 700 tons of sand, and her name is Sandi. She is sassy, she is iconic, and she even has her own social channels (@SandiTreeWPB) where she shares updates and holiday fun.  Located on the Downtown Waterfront (100 N. Clematis Street), Sandi is the star of the annual “Holiday in Paradise” celebration, which kicks off on December 4th. Every evening, a spectacular, choreographed light-and-music show runs from 6-10 p.m., turning the Intracoastal into a dazzling tropical winter scene. On December 31st, The Great Lawn will be transformed into a New Year’s Celebration, and Sandi’s final night will feature live performances, a DJ, and a fireworks show, sponsored by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, to bring in the new year.

Take A Ride On A Ferris Wheel

Add a thrilling new perspective to your holiday light tour by taking a ride on the Ferris Wheel, also part of the “Holiday in Paradise” celebration. Located near Sandi, the Ferris wheel offers breathtaking views that span from the downtown skyline to the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the season, enjoy the crisp winter air, and get a full 360-degree view of West Palm Beach’s festive transformation. Ferris wheel rides are available from 6-10 p.m. through December 30th and from 6 p.m. to midnight on December 31st. Rides are $5 per person, per ride, and tickets can be purchased on site.

Throughout December, the Kravis Center hosts a diverse calendar of seasonal spectacles. From December 5-7, catch a performance of The Nutcracker Ballet. There are also choir performances, including the Handel and Hayden Society’s Messiah, and to see young dancers in action, there’s the Nutcracker: Land of Sweets performed by the Palm Beach Atlantic University Preparatory Program in Dance. The Younger Singers of the Palm Beaches will also present Winter Tapestry 2025: Songs of Joy, Light, and Hope, a concert featuring music from Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa traditions.
