Your Essential Downtown West Palm Beach Spring Break Checklist
A guide to the best things to see and do for spring break
So, you’ve decided to spend your spring break in Downtown West Palm Beach. You’ve picked a great place, which offers a walkable neighborhood, waterfront views, and unique restaurants all in one city. Whether you’re a family exploring with the kids, a group of friends on a getaway, or a couple needing some sunshine, here is how you can spend your spring break in the Center of Paradise.
What to Do: Ride, Splash, and Sip
Explore on Two (or Four) Wheels: One of the best ways to explore Downtown West Palm Beach is on wheels. Head to Palm Beach Ebike rentals to rent cruisers, e-bikes, or a signature Lilly Pulitzer Moke and glide along the waterfront. You can ride around at your own pace, and if you’re feeling adventurous, hop across the bridge to the 5.5-mile Palm Beach Lake Trail.
Book a Water Cruise: For a different perspective, the family-friendly Palm Beach Sightseeing Cruise is an absolute must. There’s also a Sip and Dip Cruise, a three-hour sail that drops anchor so you can kayak, swim, or paddleboard. For some adults-only fun, consider the Flotilla Cruise, which features a giant flamingo “floatie”, music, and flamingo-themed drinks.
Party Downtown: You can’t visit Downtown West Palm Beach without spending a night enjoying the unique nighttime entertainment. If it’s a Saturday night, head to Karaoke at Hullabaloo from 10 p.m. to midnight to belt out your favorite song. St. Patrick’s Day also takes place in March, and there are several events planned, including the Irish Fest on March 14 and 15 and the St. Patrick’s Day Party on March 17, both hosted by O’Shea’s Irish Pub. There are also two pub crawls on March 14 and 17, and an all-day St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at Roxy’s Pub.
Where to Eat: Culinary Adventures for Every Appetite
For Morning Vibes: The food scene in DowntownWPB is on fire right now, with new restaurants all over the city. Start your morning (or late brunch) at Batch Southern Tap (get the camelized apple French toast) or go low-key at Johan’s Joe Swedish Restaurant and order the homemade Swedish pancakes. Or grab breakfast to go with a bagel or donut at Sour Seed Bagel or Crema.
For Afternoon Bites: When that afternoon hunger hits, Elisabetta’s Ristorante is a must. They serve incredible Italian food, and their second-floor balcony overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. Another tasty option is Rivales Taquera and Craft Bar for street-style tacos and margaritas. For tasty sushi rolls and short rib dumplings, you can’t go wrong with a reservation at Pubbelly Sushi.
For Late Night Flavors: At Estiatorio Milos, you can personally select your dinner from a fresh selection of Mediterranean fish flown in daily. Kyma features modern Greek cuisine and the highest rooftop views in Downtown West Palm Beach. Another great rooftop spot is Spruzzo at The Ben Hotel. The restaurant’s seafood dishes, like the crab cakes and the lobster and prawn fettuccine, have made it a favorite among locals.
What to See: Classic Music and Iconic Performances
Dive into Culture: Take a break from the sun and head to the Kravis Center for an exciting lineup of events in March and April. You can keep the Spring Break energy going for the kids with “Elmo’s Got the Moves” on April 24. And for more live theater, Palm Beach Dramaworks is presenting The Crucible on select dates from April 3 to April 19.
