Built in an old Salvation Army building circa 1923 Respectable Street has hosted over 1000 live acts ranging from the first performing avant garde act Chris and Cosey to The Red Hot Chili Peppers and legends like the Damned, The Misfits. Indie newcomers Surfer Blood have honed their talents at Respectable Street and have gone on to National acclaim.

The Purple Lotus Kava Bars have been a leading Kava institution in South Florida for over 18 years. Kava is both a plant, and a beverage produced from the root of the same plant. At the Purple Lotus, they offer both forms: a powdered kava root and a kava beverage.
