New Downtown West Palm Beach Ambassador Program To Launch July 1

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 1, 2024) – The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has announced the launch of its new Downtown Ambassador program on July 1, with services provided by Block by Block. Using a phased approach, the first Ambassador service to launch will be the clean team, with a pressure washing team launching September 1 and the safety team launching on October 1. The five-year partnership with Block by Block combines multiple services into one provider that will better allow the DDA to address the growing needs of the downtown district.

“By combining these services, the DDA will have more flexibility to quickly reassign resources as the needs of the downtown community change,” said Teneka James-Feaman, executive director of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority. “We will also have improved data collection through Block by Block’s integrated reporting system, which will allow us to identify any specific sections of downtown that might need increased attention.”

The cleaning and trash ambassadors are focused on removing litter and debris throughout the district, including emptying trash cans, removing graffiti and assisting with events. Pressure washing ambassadors will be responsible for frequent cleaning of sidewalks and streets. Safety ambassadors will work with the City of West Palm Beach Police Department to improve the safety of residents, guests and employees in the downtown district and assist with homeless outreach efforts, while patrolling streets throughout downtown. All Ambassadors will be well versed in helping and answering any questions from downtown patrons.

Over a more than 20-year history, Block by Block has developed an optimized operating model built on best practices, research and development and modern technology that has attracted partners in more than 100 locations across the United States.
