2026 TRIM Notice

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Property owners within the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority district may see a proposed DDA millage rate of 2.0000 mills listed on their 2026 Notice of Proposed Property Taxes, commonly known as a TRIM notice.

The 2.0000-mill figure is a preliminary proposed rate submitted as part of Florida’s required Truth in Millage, or TRIM, process. It is not the final DDA millage rate that is expected to appear on the property tax bill.

Please note: Your TRIM notice is not a tax bill.

Why 2.0000 Mills Appears on the TRIM Notice

Pursuant to Florida law, the DDA Board is required to establish a proposed millage rate in July. This proposed rate serves as the not-to-exceed millage rate for the fiscal year. It may be reduced, but not increased, during the budget adoption process.

Consistent with the Interlocal Agreement and the Community Redevelopment Agency budget approval process, the DDA established its proposed millage rate at 2.0000 mills.

This preliminary rate allows the DDA to complete the required TRIM process and does not represent the rate the DDA intends to adopt for Fiscal Year 2026–2027.

The Rate the DDA Intends to Adopt

As in previous years, the DDA intends to adopt a final operating millage rate of 0.9700 mills for Fiscal Year 2026–2027.

One mill equals $1 for every $1,000 of taxable property value. At a rate of 0.9700 mills, the DDA portion of the property tax equals 97 cents for every $1,000 of taxable value.

For example, a property with a taxable value of $100,000 would pay:

  • $97 at the intended 0.9700-mill rate
  • $200 under the preliminary 2.0000-mill figure

The final amount will be based on the millage rate formally adopted through the public budget hearing process.

Public Budget Hearings

The DDA’s public budget hearings are scheduled for:

First Public Budget Hearing
Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 5:05 p.m.

Second and Final Public Budget Hearing
Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 5:05 p.m.

At the first hearing, the DDA Board will review the proposed budget, receive public comment and consider adoption of the tentative budget and millage rate.

At the second and final hearing, the Board will receive additional public comment and consider adoption of the final millage rate and Fiscal Year 2026–2027 operating budget.

Meeting agendas, location information and participation details will be posted on the DDA Board Meetings page prior to each hearing.
