Short Story

In 2017, Downtown West Palm Beach welcomed the first Short Story Dispenser© in the state of Florida, making West Palm Beach the second U.S. city to install a Short Story Dispenser.

Short Story Dispensers are stand-alone kiosks delivering fiction to the public, while breathing new life into the art of storytelling.

Stories are available in 1-minute, 3-minute and 5-minute lengths, and are a creative & innovative way to boost reading for fun while sipping your morning coffee or enjoying lunch.

Visit at the following locations: Johan’s Joe Swedish Restaurant (401 S. Dixie Highway, Suite 3) and the DDA office (300 Clematis Street, Suite 200)

Every family and community have their own unique story and traditions, and everyone should have the opportunity to tell those stories.

The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority and West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District, in partnership with The Cream Literary Alliance and the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Creative Writing Program, want to honor those traditions by inviting local writers living in Palm Beach County to submit their family stories and traditions in our “Tell Your Story” Challenge for the opportunity to be published in our Short Story Dispensers!

Submissions are closed.

Congratulations to the finalists who are now published authors!
