As of 2021 downtown is home to nearly 10,000 people—more than three times as many residents as two decades ago. With more residents living downtown today it now houses the growing tier-standard of approximately nine residents per acre, nearly three times as many residents per acre as the city and eight times as many as the region. With a median household income of more than $77,000, downtown is more affluent than the city or the region, where the median household income is $54,000 and $63,000, respectively. Downtown shows itself to be diverse in its residential population. Residents of downtown are also highly educated, with a tier-standard 57% attaining a bachelor’s degree or higher. Downton has a population of 57% age 25-64 and a full 92% over the age of 18.
