Celebrating the Women of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority

Celebrate International Women’s Day with us as we proudly showcase the dynamic force of female leadership driving the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) forward. Join in as we illuminate their remarkable achievements and steadfast commitment to fostering positive transformation in DowntownWPB. 

Catherine Ast (District Services Manager): Catherine Ast joined the DDA in January 2011 after a career in Pharmacy Management. With a background in Education and Medical Transcription from Palm Beach Junior College (now PBSU), she quickly rose to Operations Manager in the pharmacy industry, excelling in building relationships and managing teams. Currently serving as District Services Manager, Catherine oversees Downtown’s cleanliness and safety programs, including landscaping and ambassador initiatives. Certified in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), she strategically assesses factors impacting crime prevention. A fourth-generation Florida Native with deep ties to the city, Catherine enjoys family time, a love for animals, and supports her Florida State Seminoles in her leisure hours.

Krystal Campi (Placemaking Coordinator): Krystal Campi brings 15 years of management and customer service expertise to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). With a background spanning retail, salons, fitness, health, marketing, and events, Krystal’s versatile skills reflect her dedication to excellence. 

Her roles as General Manager at Fitness Hub Studios and Guest Relations Manager at the Ben Hotel highlight her commitment to delivering exceptional service. Since joining the DDA in 2023, Krystal’s passion for community engagement has driven her contributions to various events and programs, showcasing her infectious positivity and proactive approach to enhancing downtown experiences and fostering a thriving community environment.

Sherryl Muriente (Public Realm Director): Sherryl Muriente, the Public Realm Director at the DDA, is an urban acupuncture specialist and advocate for common-sense urbanism. Since joining the DDA in 2017, she has significantly impacted Downtown West Palm Beach by spearheading initiatives like Dining on the Spot and Trojan Rocking Horses WPB, along with leading the Fern Street Chess Park project. With a background as Project Director for Street Plans and Creative Director of LeJobart, Sherryl has curated and managed large-scale public art projects, including CityZen Garden and C’est la Via. Her diverse portfolio also includes community-led interventions, alleyway restorations, and parklet studies, such as Sistrunk’s Story Share, the Megaphone, and the Street Balcony Pilot Project. 

Sherryl Muriente holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Architecture from Florida Atlantic University.

Sabrina LoloSabrina Lolo (Marketing Coordinator): Sabrina Lolo joined the DDA in September 2021 as the Marketing Coordinator, bringing with her four years of experience as a Digital Content Producer at WPEC CBS12 News. In her role, Sabrina focuses on enhancing awareness of the DDA and West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District, utilizing skills in social media management, e-communications, and event coordination. A graduate of Eckerd College in St. Pete, Sabrina is a former NCAA Division II softball player who also represented the United States in Australia as part of the USA Athletes International women’s softball team. Outside of work, she indulges her passion for travel, surfing, biking, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Samantha Moore (Office Manager): Samantha Moore is a dedicated professional with nearly 15 years of experience in customer service and employee relations. She joined the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) as an Administrative Assistant in January 2017 and has since advanced to the role of Office Manager. In this capacity, Samantha oversees the daily operations of the office, ensuring efficient coordination and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Her dedication to fostering community growth and delivering exceptional support fuels her work at the DDA. Outside of the office, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, tending to her succulent garden, and indulging in a good book by the beach or poolside.

Teneka James-Feaman (Associate Executive Director): Teneka JamesFeaman joined the DDA team in November 2007, bringing with her a wealth of experience in marketing, branding strategies, and business development. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, she has honed her skills while working for organizations like the PBC Sports Commission and the American Cancer Society. In 2016, Teneka was selected for the International Downtown Association’s Emerging Leader Fellowship Program, focusing on urban placemaking and management. Currently serving as the Associate Director of the DDA and Director of the West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District, she plays a pivotal role in cultivating business relations, overseeing marketing, and driving business development initiatives.

Tiffany FaublasTiffany Faublas (Marketing Director): Tiffany Faublas, our Marketing Director, brings creativity and meticulous attention to detail to her role, leading innovative marketing and public relations initiatives that enrich Downtown West Palm Beach’s brand and culture. With a decade of dedicated service at the DDA, Tiffany is passionate about community engagement and enjoys coordinating, planning, and executing DDA-produced events, notably Black Art Matters. Outside of work, she actively serves on committees and boards, indulges in the culinary exploration of Palm Beach County, journals, and spends time with her puppy, Benji. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Tiffany is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and an alumna of the University of Central Florida.

Vivian Ryland

Vivian Ryland (Director of Administration): Vivian brings over 20 years of experience in redevelopment and downtown revitalization to the DDA, where she has been a valuable member since November 2021. With expertise in real estate development, budgeting, and project management, Vivian is well-versed in Florida State Statutes concerning special taxing districts. She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University. A native Floridian, Vivian enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and camping in her free time.

This popular coffee house opened its doors in 2020 and exclusively serves 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Their beans are renowned for being grown in world’s highest mountain. Enjoy the rich aroma and smooth delicate taste during breakfast or lunch; with homemade delights available every day as well. Originally from St. Andrew’s Parish in Jamaica, owner Allison Boettcher is always there to greet guests. Boettcher brings the passion of her homeland’s food to this unique spot.

FIWE Caribbean Cuisine

Although FIWE is fairly new to Downtown West Palm Beach, the restaurant’s chef and owner, Shari Kedar McCalla Bedasee from Jamaica, has over 10 years of experience cooking Caribbean cuisines. The restaurant was established in 2006 in Orlando, Florida and brought the taste of the Caribbean to the downtown district in 2020. FIWE offers catering services, as well as online ordering and curbside pickup.

Recently, Ivette received accolades in Elegant Bride as the “best bridal makeup/hair stylist in South Florida,” further cementing her reputation for excellence.

 

Johan’s Joe Swedish Restaurant

This DowntownWPB staple is known for its coffee, which is made from the award-winning Löfbergs Lila Swedish Coffee Roasters, as well as their delicious in-house baked goods. Laura Klintberg, who currently owns Johan’s with husband Matti Klintberg, started off as a part-time barista at Johan’s for the original owners and quickly advanced to a management position before eventually taking over as owner.

Located in the heart of DowntownWPB, the Mandel Public Library has four uniquely designed floors and is home to books, programs, and more for both young and old. Lisa Hathaway, who served as the Library Director in 2020, began her tenure at the Library in May 2004 as the Children’s Librarian. Many of the Library’s successes – including the Homework Help Program, Social Media Committee, and Free Summer Lunch Program — can be accredited to Hathaway.
