Director of Administration
Shelly Williams is a seasoned public administrator with more than 15 years of experience in municipal government and special taxing districts. Ms. Williams was hired as the Director of Administration for the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in January 2018. In her capacity, Ms. Williams is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative functions of the organization including but not limited to Human Resource Management, Budget and Finance, Procurement, Contract Management and the daily supervision of administrative staff.
Prior to joining the DDA, Ms. Williams served for over a decade with the Village of Wellington as a Project Manager within several different departments, in addition to the ACME and Pine Tree Water Control Districts. She was instrumental in the development of the City’s budgeting process, from planning to design, for which she was awarded Special Recognition in the areas of Communication Device, Capital Reporting, and Performance Measurement through the Distinguished Budget Awards program from the Government Finance Officers Association, in addition to being recognized by the ICMA for Best Management Practices for Capital Reporting. Ms. Williams also served as the Business Analyst for South Florida Water Management District and Operations Manager for the City of Miami Gardens Parks Recreation Department.
Ms. Williams’ comprehensive grasp of public policy, governmental operations and legislative affairs has garnered recognition from her peers and former colleagues. Her ethical commitment to public service is unwavering.
Ms. Williams holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Palm Beach State College. She is also certified in Lean Six Sigma and several different areas of compliance and process improvement. Outside of work Shelly can most often be found preparing for her next hiking or camping adventure or spending time with friends and family.
