Meet Our Performers
Ballet Florida is a contemporary ballet company based in South Florida led by Choreographer, Dancer, and Artistic Director, Lauren Carey. Ballet Florida is dedicated to artistic collaborations, education, and building an accessible dance community. Ballet Florida nurtures creative careers and stimulates audiences in co-creative projects between dancers, choreographers, visual artists, musicians, opera, composers and designers. The exceptional artists of the company showcase a versatile dance medium. The company produces programs including full-length evenings performed in traditional theaters, contrasted by intimate non-traditional environments, galleries, public spaces and film. Ballet Florida has performed commissioned works by artists both locally and from around the world. As a non for profit 510c(3) organization the Academy of Ballet Florida, Professional Company, and Community programming aim to bring artists, audiences, and students closer to diverse opportunities for expression through dance.
At just 20 years old, award-winning singer and trumpeter Chris Santiago is recipient of the 2019 Songbook Celebration Award, presented by 5-time Grammy nominated artist Michael Feinstein and the Songbook Academy. He was also named the 2018-19 Young Artist Award Winner of the Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook, founded by legendary radio personality Dick Robinson. In 2020 he was named a National Young Arts Winner in Jazz Voice, one of the most prestigious and select awards given to talented young artists throughout the US. Chris has become a favorite of South Florida audiences and has appeared in concert with Michael Feinstein and the Kravis Center Pops Orchestra, “The Hit Man” Charles Calello and his Orchestra, the late pianist Mike Renzi, drummer Duffy Jackson, and many more jazz greats. He can be heard locally on Legends Radio 100.3 FM, as well as Dick Robinson’s nationally syndicated radio show American Standards by the Sea. In 2022, Chris will be making his Australian debut in the premiere of “CHET: The Prince of Cool,” based on the life and music of jazz legend Chet Baker. The intimate, cabaret show is the creation of acclaimed Australian film, television, and stage producer W. Lance Reynolds, and playwright Bryce Hallett. The show will tour throughout Australia before heading to New York City.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts Orchestra
The Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Orchestra department encompasses grades 9 through 12 and works to encourage collaboration and creativity and foster a supportive environment for musical and personal growth. They offer two large ensemble classes (Dreyfoos String Orchestra and Dreyfoos Philharmonic), two instrument technique classes, and a chamber music class which is a collaboration with the piano and band departments.
Palm Beach Symphony
Palm Beach Symphony is South Florida’s premier orchestra known for its diverse repertoire and commitment to the community. Founded in 1974, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization adheres to a mission of engaging, educating, and entertaining the greater community of the Palm Beaches through live performances of inspiring orchestral music. The orchestra is celebrated for delivering spirited performances by first-rate musicians and distinguished guest artists. Recognized by The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County with a 2020 Muse Award for Outstanding Community Engagement, Palm Beach Symphony continues to expand its education and community outreach programs with children’s concerts, student coaching sessions and master classes, instrument donations and free public concerts that have reached more than 56,000 students in recent years.
