DDA

Who We Are

In 1967, the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was created as an independent taxing district by a special act of the Florida Legislature funded by a special tax levy on properties within its district boundaries. The agency is governed by a 7-member board of directors which includes downtown property owners, business owners, and/or residents Board Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Commission of West Palm Beach.

Since its founding, the DDA has worked in partnership with the community and the City of West Palm Beach to deliver the most impactful and value-based outcomes possible for Downtown West Palm Beach, the heart of the city.

The DDA focuses on the work of creating and supporting a thriving Downtown by providing services such as policy advocacy, marketing, business development assistance, maintenance, safety strategies, placemaking, events programming, and information sharing.

Our mission is to promote and enhance a vibrant Downtown West Palm Beach for all.
